Mosaic is releasing a groundbreaking 360° high-resolution dataset of Prague, a project initially introduced in July 2024. Today, the company is sharing the first part of this massive dataset for free, inviting geospatial experts, VFX creators, and urban planners to explore and apply it for their non- commercial purposes. With 1.26 million 13K-resolution images collected with Mosaic Camera Systems, this data enables precision-driven applications across various fields in an entirely new way.

The RealMap Prague dataset captures the city’s architectural heritage, infrastructure, and streetscapes with centimeter-level accuracy, establishing a new benchmark for high-resolution urban mapping. Covering every meter of Prague with remarkable clarity, Mosaic’s dataset is anticipated to make a significant impact in sectors such as urban planning, virtual tourism, historical preservation, 3D modeling, and immersive VFX productions.

“This project is unprecedented in scale and detail,” stated Jeffrey Martin, CEO of Mosaic. “We are releasing this dataset in order to empower researchers, developers, and digital artists to access real-world data so that they can manipulate it in creative and practical ways. Prague’s beauty and architectural complexity demanded a dataset that could truly do it justice.”

Key features and applications of Mosaic RealMap:

  • 1.26 million 13K-resolution images meticulously captured for accuracy down to the centimeter, setting a new standard for visual fidelity.
  • Versatile applications: The dataset supports advanced modeling techniques, including Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs), Gaussian splats, point clouds, and other immersive tools, ideal for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and next-gen gaming.
  • Free, non-commercial access: Released under a CC-BY-NC-SA license, the initial dataset encourages widespread exploration in academic and creative projects, accelerating geospatial and digital visualization innovation.

A Transformative Resource Across Multiple Fields

This release marks an essential milestone, enabling experts to visualize Prague’s unique urban layout in unprecedented detail. For geospatial researchers, the data provides a precise baseline for environmental planning and urban infrastructure applications. For the VFX industry, it opens doors to highly realistic urban backdrops and interactive environments that can redefine visual experiences.
